ClearRoute is delighted to announce that our sponsored adventurers, Scottish brothers Ewan, Jamie, and Lachlan Maclean, have triumphantly completed their non-stop, unsupported row across the Pacific Ocean, setting a new world record and raising over £1 million to deliver clean water to 40,000+ people in vulnerable communities.
Their journey began in April 2025, departing from Peru, and ended after 139 days, 7 hours and 17 minutes at sea, as they landed in Cairns, Australia. The brothers rowed more than 9,000 miles across the world’s largest ocean - unsupported, continuously, and without aid.
While at sea, the Macleans faced staggering obstacles:
Yet, through it all, they rowed in shifts around the clock, supported each other, adapted, never gave up and emerged victorious. Their persistence broke the previous Pacific record of 160 days held by solo rower Fedor Konyukhov, making them the fastest team ever to cross the Pacific in this style. They are also the first team of brothers ever to row from South America to Australia non-stop and unsupported.
This wasn’t just an athletic feat — it was a mission with heart. The row raised more than £1 million (and counting) in support of clean water projects via the Maclean Foundation. The funds are aimed at delivering sustainable access to safe water for tens of thousands of people — particularly in Madagascar — through trusted local partners.
By achieving this, they’ve brought hope, health, dignity, and life-changing infrastructure to communities that need it most. Their story now lives not only in headlines — but in wells, pipes, pumps, and the lives they will touch.
“We couldn’t be prouder to support the Maclean Brothers in this extraordinary endeavour,” said Charlie Whaley, CEO and Co-Founder, ClearRoute. “This was never just about beating records — it was about bringing real, measurable impact to people’s lives. Their courage, tenacity, teamwork, and conviction embody exactly what we believe in: working together, seeing opportunities, and breaking new ground.”
ClearRoute congratulates Ewan, Jamie, and Lachlan on this monumental achievement — and we look forward to supporting and amplifying their work ahead as they turn this triumph into sustainable change.
ClearRoute is a global platform engineering consultancy dedicated to helping enterprises bring high-impact digital products to market faster, safer, and with trust. We partner with mission-driven innovators and believe in backing purpose as much as progress.
Ewan, Jamie, and Lachlan Maclean are Scottish adventurers and social entrepreneurs. Their ambitious Pacific crossing was executed under Team BROAR / The Maclean Foundation, which channels their expeditions into fundraised impact — especially around clean water projects in regions where safe water is scarce.
