ClearRoute is incredibly proud to sponsor the Maclean Brothers – a team of three brothers from Scotland who are rowing the Pacific Ocean to raise money for clean water projects across the world.
We’ve always stood for breaking new ground. With a planned row of 9,000 miles non-stop and unsupported, the Maclean Brothers are certainly doing that. We’re
honoured to support them.
The Maclean Brothers are a team of three brothers from Scotland who raise money for clean water projects worldwide by embarking on extreme physical challenges.
Back in 2020 the brothers set three world records by rowing 3000 miles non-stop and unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean – the fastest and youngest trio ever and the first three brothers. In doing so, they raised more than £200K for clean water charities – and whet their appetites for another, more extreme challenge happening this year.
In April 25, the brothers are rowing 9000 miles – non-stop and unsupported over 120+ days – from Peru to Sydney. Their ambition? To raise £1M to provide at least 30,000 people in developing countries with clean water for life.
“We are thrilled to be teaming up with these dynamic brothers who are motivated by a desire to improve the world and create an astonishing legacy through their brilliant foundation.
Charlie Whaley, CEO, ClearRoute
When we first heard about the brothers, we were blown away by the scale of their ambition, the impressive physical endurance demanded, and their drive towards a clear, inspiring purpose.
At ClearRoute, we’ve always stood for breaking new ground; for not being afraid to stick your head above the parapet, especially when it counts. For seeing what other people don’t see and putting skin in the game to solve those problems.
Software engineering and rowing might be quite different (!), but we can’t imagine any better encapsulation of our ethos and values than what the Maclean Brothers are doing.
As a team, we’re genuinely excited by the things people can achieve when they push past expectations and norms – the breakthroughs that happen on the other side of physical and mental endurance. So we can’t wait to see the brothers on the other side and hear about their journey.
We’re also excited about the impact that feats like this have. If the brothers hit their £1M target, that will provide a lifetime’s clean water for at least 30,000 people. That’s 30,000 lives changed forever, because three brothers dreamt big, didn’t let doubts win, and dared to do something different.
That’s something we couldn’t be prouder to support.
